Recently, the Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group's 20,000 t/yr high-precision ultra-thin electronic copper foil project (Phase II) for energy storage applications, constructed by 15MCC, was successfully awarded the 2025 Nonferrous Metals Industry Quality Project Award by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.

The project, a key strategic investment in Anhui Province's new energy storage industry chain, focuses on the production of ultra‑thin electronic copper foil – a core raw material for power batteries and energy storage batteries. Upon commissioning, it has significantly enhanced the regional supply capacity of high-end lithium‑battery copper foil, improved the closed‑loop copper‑based new materials industrial chain of Tongling Nonferrous, and contributed to the high‑quality development of the new energy industry.

From the very start of construction, 15MCC set the core goal of "winning a ministerial‑level quality award and setting a benchmark." Quality excellence planning was integrated into every phase of the construction cycle, and a full‑chain quality management system was established, featuring "technology first, source control, closed‑loop processes, and data verification." The project team meticulously executed every construction detail to high standards and systematically overcame a series of industry‑wide construction challenges, including multi‑trade coordination, piping layout, and welding quality control. After commissioning, the production lines have continued to operate stably, with no leakage in process pipelines and smooth operation of electromechanical systems. Cleanliness, temperature and humidity levels, and equipment precision in the plant fully meet the production requirements for ultra‑thin energy‑storage copper foil. Both product yield and capacity ramp‑up have reached the expected design targets, achieving full compliance in both engineering quality and operational performance.
